The following journals welcome undergraduate submissions:

  • Applause

    • Applause is an annual, full-online journal with a strong web platform allowing us to offer an immersive reading experience as we showcase in each issue the writing that moves us most during our reading period from undergraduate writers across the country and world.​

  • Chênière: The Nicholls Undergraduate Humanities Review

    • The journal is based out of Nicholls State University, located in the Bayou Region of Thibodaux, Louisiana. The name is derived from a local, coastal environmental feature. The goal of Chênière is to become the top undergraduate Humanities journal in the Gulf Coast Region.​

  • Digital Literature Review

    • The Digital Literature Review is an academic journal edited, produced, and published by undergraduate students partnered with the English Department at Ball State University. Our goal is to showcase the valuable contributions of hardworking, creative students from all over the world.​

  • Esferas

    • Esferas is a student and alumni initiative within New York University’s Department of Spanish & Portuguese. We are a peer-reviewed, annual publication that publishes exceptional critical essays, visual art, creative writing, interviews, translations, and works related to Hispanic and Luso life within and beyond New York City.

  • Film Matters

    • Film Matters is an exciting film magazine, celebrating the work of undergraduate film scholars. It is published three times a year, by students and for students, and each issue contains feature articles, as well as a healthy reviews section. In addition, with an undergraduate audience in mind, Film Matters will include occasional service-oriented pieces, such as profiles of film studies departments, articles that engage the undergraduate film studies community and prepare students for graduate study in this field, and resources and opportunities that undergraduate scholars can pursue. ​

  • History Matters

    • History Matters is a web-based, undergraduate journal of historical research published annually by the department of history at Appalachian State University. The journal is edited by undergraduates with the help of a faculty board.

  • List of Philosophy Undergraduate Journals

    • An A-to-Z list of dozens of undergraduate journals in philosophy.​

  • Journal of Undergraduate International Studies 

    • The Journal of Undergraduate International Studies (JUIS) is a nationally distributed journal that publishes first-rate academic articles of undergraduate students pursuing novel scholarship.​

  • Mangrove

    • Mangrove is the undergraduate literary journal at the University of Miami, publishing student art and writing that pulses with human language, sits under our skin and settles into our soul. Give us your best creative works, and we will give them a loving home.​

  • ​Outrageous Fortune

    • Outrageous Fortune is the first online literary magazine created for undergraduates by undergraduates. It was begun by a group of students at Mary Baldwin University where its headquarters is still situated. We publish undergraduate writing and art as well as feature the creative work of Mary Baldwin graduates in some of our pages.​

  • Pi Sigma Alpha Undergraduate Journal of Politics

    • The Pi Sigma Alpha Undergraduate Journal of Politics is a journal of undergraduate research in political science and government​

  • Poets and Writers

  • Portales

    • Portales is the undergraduate journal of the Department of Latin American and Iberian Cultures at Columbia University. Founded in 2015, Portales publishes academic and creative work to foster interest in Latin American and Iberian cultures and celebrate undergraduate academic research.​

  • School of Historical, Philosophical, and Religious Studies Digital  Humanities Journal

  • Soapbox

    • A member of the Radical Open Access Collective, Soapbox is an independent and open-access publishing platform. We aim to elevate different voices and promote fresh perspectives on the cultural objects, phenomena, and concepts shaping our world and experiences.

  • The Chicago Journal of Foreign Policy

    • The Chicago Journal of Foreign Policy (CJFP) is a journal published by undergraduates at The University of Chicago that aims to provide a forum for problem-solving and analysis around international affairs. The journal, founded in 2012, features a collection of articles that reflect on historical, economic, political, and cultural developments within nations other than the United States, or explores relationships between the United States and the world.

  • The Historian

    • The Historian is a peer-reviewed journal of historical scholarship, publishing articles, essays, and reviews on all periods, regions, and topics within the discipline. The journal’s affiliation with Phi Alpha Theta , the national history honors society, allows it to reach a large and diverse audience of readers, from undergraduates to senior scholars, making it a particularly valuable point of contact for all who read and write about the past.​

  • The Oswald Review: An International Journal of Undergraduate Literary Criticism

    • The Oswald Review is a refereed undergraduate journal of criticism and research. Published annually, it accepts submission in the field of English from undergraduates in this country and abroad.  A faculty member's endorsement is required.​

  • The Sigma Tau Delta Rectangle

    • Sigma Tau Delta Rectangle (founded in 1931) is an annual journal of creative writing that publishes fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. ​The Sigma Tau Delta journals publish annually the best writing and criticism of undergraduate and graduate active chapter members of the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society.​

  • The Sigma Tau Delta Review

    • Sigma Tau Delta Review (founded in 2005) is an annual journal that publishes critical essays on literature, essays on rhetoric and composition, and essays devoted to pedagogical issues. The Sigma Tau Delta journals publish annually the best writing and criticism of undergraduate and graduate active chapter members of the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society.​

  • Towson University Journal of International Affairs

    • The mission of the Towson University Journal of International Affairs (TJIA) is to explore the international implications and potential solutions to a range of problems and phenomena across academia. The scope of International Relations goes beyond politics, including geography, history, behavioral psychology, economics, and anthropology. We invite undergraduate and graduate students to submit papers that analyze interactions between international actors and present compelling cases for causality. ​

  • Young Scholars in Writing: Undergraduate Research in Writing and Rhetoric

    • Young Scholars in Writing: Undergraduate Research in Writing and Rhetoric publishes research articles written by undergraduates on topics related to rhetoric and writing. We seek papers that integrate secondary sources from the area under investigation and offer primary research conducted by the writer(s) and/or ground inquiry in a defined theoretical framework. ​
