Using a crowdsource technique, Story Booth contributors added one line at a time to create the below four collaborative sonnets.

I.

Love is being there even when you’re not

It is like a shadow during the night

The dark and inky sky loves

I am love and embody love

The deepest crevices of the soul

drowning myself in loath and lust

Love is real yet unnoticeable

It is the echo of a sorrowful heart

It is the desire to help, to give, to care

And the way I think of you when you’re not there

How I long to see those eyes

How I long for that bright smile

How I miss that sweet laughter of yours

My sweet, my love, my life.

 

II.

A chemical reaction started by the eyes

An unbreakable connection that is easy to surmise

Many ways that a person can feel overwhelmed with joy and

   surprise

Dainty, poignant and elegance, love is everything,

Without it we perish.

Love is God. It is Heaven. Divine.

It transcends the world, its lust, its time.

It makes one feel alive.

Capturing the moment, one of the most important aspects

Living your life to the fullest and most fulfilling.

Love is being selfless and putting one’s own needs to the

   side

Giving to others what they may desire but not know how to

   ask for it.

Love and be loved

It’s nice to love and be loved, but it’s better to know all you

   can know.

 

III.

I love sleeping so much

The feelings of comfort in a warm hug

The safety in my bed, nothing compares.

I love myself so much

How can we love others

Without first embracing yourself

Then only can you give hugs.

Love is conflict and resolution

With compromise and compassion

With thought and care

Trust and tenderness

Unconditional love

The pillows are like soft dove—

I love the satisfaction of eating

 

IV. A Fragment

You keep my heart beating

A year and some change, and you ain’t change

I long to see your charcoal-tinted hair,

Your reflection in every mirror

I see you wherever I go

Forever haunting me

The most scary love

Is Loss of time.
