Digital Humanities Workshop

NSU’s Center for the Humanities is excited to invite you to an introductory workshop on Digital Humanities led by Sarah Stanley, the Digital Humanities Librarian of the Office of Digital Research and Scholarship at Florida State University. Learn to navigate digital tools in textual analysis, mapping, data visualization, and web editing to further your digital research.

Style Us: Conference Conventions & Etiquette Workshop

What is the purpose of a humanities conference? What is considered professional and unprofessional behavior? What can I expect in a panel? What are methods for addressing tough audiences? What is my responsibility as an audience member? How does one 'network'? Join our virtual workshop, led by Dr. Aileen Miyuki Farrar, Humanities Center Director, to learn more about conference conventions and etiquette. This event is in partnership between the Humanities Center Crossroads Humanities Student Conference and the Department of Humanities and Politics Style Us: Writing and Professionalization Series.

From Humanities to a Career in Tech

A talk by humanities major Iris Nevins, who went on to become an Associate Engineering Manager at a tech company called Mailchimp. She'll be joined by Senior University Recruiter Jasmine Haugabrook who will discuss how to get both technical and non-technical jobs at Mailchimp.
