Story Booth
Carnival Edition
The Department of Humanities and Politics and NSU’s Center for Humanities are delighted to bring you Story Booth: Carnival Edition.
In the spirit of the 2021 carnival season, we set up a special Zoom Recording Booth—https://nova.zoom.us/j/92792002640 open 24/7, from February 16 to March 16.
The prompt: If you could wear a mask and be anyone or anything, who or what would you be? What would you do? The below are stories from those who visited our Zoom Recording Booth and told us what masks they'd wear and what they do to goof off!
The spirit of carnival is to play, laugh, destress, and liberate. Those participating in Story Booth's Carnival can answer the prompt... or go off script! Come dressed in costume. Take us on a walk with your dog. Or give us your stand-up comedy routine!
Check out our introductory video to learn more about Carnival!
Bianca explains the history of Brazil's Carnaval and along the way introduces the tradition of Entrudo and the nationally popular song "Mamãe Eu Quero" by Vicente Paiva and Jararaca.
