Popcorn Fall

Popcorn, Popcorn, Popcorn

When asked what the most memorable part of the theater is, many responded with stories about food: popcorn, butter, Slurpees, ICEEs, candy, and more. Below are excerpts from their stories.

What's your favorite part about going to the theater?

“My favorite part of going to the theater is the popcorn butter dispenser. I am a firm believer in the little details that can make even the most mundane experiences a great deal richer. It is an indisputable truth that the popcorn you purchase at the theatre is far superior to the microwaveable bags one can purchase at the grocery store. […] Besides the fact that this incredibly simple machine enhances the entire theater experience, it's, in fact, its own entirely unique affair.” ~ Rueida Ali

“I love sharing popcorn. I love popcorn! […] Especially when it’s so good with the butter, and I love passing it to my family, and it always just being like a communal sharing experience […] I also love paying extra money for basic candy […] it’s part of the experience. […] The food really makes the theater what it is for me.” ~ Anon 1

I also love getting, you know, the Slurpees, the ICEEs, or the popcorn, which builds up the experience.” ~ Uri

“Obviously, we can't forget, you know, and ignore the access to the delicious popcorn, which is also crucial for those intense moments during the film.” ~ Ned

“My favorite part about going to the movie theaters in specific is, I have to say, the popcorn. Movie theater popcorn is always better. I mean the pop…, the butter, ooh, the butter and the salt! Fantastic! And also, like, I always get an ICEE, so that's kind of like a tradition for me. I don't get an ICEE like anywhere else” ~ Bruna Azevedo
