What stuck with you?

The Ocean

“The whole ocean concept just really stuck with me, because, like, it always had me wondering, like, oh, what’s that like?” ~ Anaya Avila

Jump Scares

“My older sister saw it when she was relatively young, and it really really scared her. So when it came time for me to watch it, I was prepared to be really scared. But I kind of found it more funny than anything. I definitely experienced a few jump scares just because I do scare pretty easy, and a few things caught me off guard. But it was a really good movie, and I'm glad that I watched it. And yeah, I don't believe I watched that one in theaters, but it was on a big screen, and it was in a dark room at night, so similar effect. But it was a good movie definitely definitely made me squeal a few times.” ~ Lyss

“For me, one of the most memorable scenes, the one that actually made me jump on my seat was the chalkboard scene right where Robert Shaw’s character scratches his hand across the chalkboard to get the attention of the audience” ~ David Kilroy

The Music

“It was a very frightening movie for me, to say the least, with the one thing that sticks with me from that movie would have to be the very frightening soundtrack. Every time that soundtrack played, I remember the anxiety increasing and increasing just as it progressed, and until … and it peaked whenever the shark actually came on screen and ravaged boats, ate people, and just caused terror in little Zachary. […] I think that that soundtrack is one of the most iconic soundtracks in movie history. I do not know. I can only think of a few soundtracks that are that memorable to me other than the Jaws soundtrack of the shark coming onto the screen” ~ Zachary Lawrence

The Shark

“I was completely terrified, due to the realism of the movie when I was at that age [10 years old]. When I look back at it now, it does not look that good, but it still does a pretty good job” ~ Uri

“I was very young. I remember being super scared of it, and thinking the shark was like the scariest thing I've ever seen! I remember, I probably was too young when I first saw it, and […] I remember getting nightmares, and I went to Universal Studios when I was younger, when there was like the Jaws ride, and I actually remember being so scared that the shark and the water was going to get me, and it was just a really scary experience.” ~ Darla

Unmemorable

“I watched it. I just don't really remember how I reacted to it.” ~ Yenisis Silva

It’s Iconic

“I've never watched Jaws before. So I'm really not sure about the movie. Some little things that I do know is that it's an adventure and thriller movie. It's also known as like one of the first summer blockbusters. It's about a killer shark, and you know, people at the beach at its mercy! That's kind of all I know, because I don't want to spoil it for myself, so I can watch it with you guys. But I do know that the movie has won many awards. One of the awards that it won is the Golden Globes, which is very interesting!” ~ Afia Mushfika

“I did like seen a couple of clips from people around me watching it. And I found the editing very interesting, and like the blood, and like the arms being chewed. But that was … that was fun!” ~ Chloe

“I've never seen the movie Jaws, but I've seen clips from it through social media memes.” ~ T

“Honestly, I didn't I think I would like it at first. […] I've never really been a fan of like that kind of movie, I guess, […] like shark movies like I always heard about them, but I never really liked them, but I actually really enjoyed Jaws. I thought it was a classic movie. Steven Spielberg did an excellent job with it.” ~ Nick Stabile
